New Chairman Elected for BEU's Student Scientific Society

A meeting of the Student Scientific Society (SSS) of Baku Engineering University (BEU) was held.
Opening the event with introductory remarks, Aghasi Malikov, BEU's Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation, emphasized that the SSS plays an important role in the development of students' research activities. He noted that the society's main goal is to increase students' interest in science, reveal their scientific potential, and create conditions for the realization of their innovative ideas.
The Vice-Rector highly praised the SSS's activities over the past year, particularly noting its role in organizing various scientific events. Aghasi Malikov also drew attention to plans to hold a republic-level student conference in the future. He noted that such an initiative is of great importance for the publication of undergraduate students' scientific work and for preparing them for future scientific activity.
Following this, the chairperson of the SSS, Aysu Jabrayilova, presented a report on the work carried out during the 2025–2026 academic year.
After an exchange of views on the report, a certificate was presented to Aysu Jabrayilova, who is stepping down from her position upon completing her undergraduate studies, in recognition of her successful work.
In the next part of the meeting, Emil Salmanov, a second-year student of the Faculty of Engineering and deputy chairman of the SSS, was nominated as a candidate for the position of chairman. Speakers highly praised the experience he had gained within the SSS, his successful work, and his active involvement in the university's social and public life.
After the candidate provided information about his activities and future plans, a vote was held. According to the results of the vote, Emil Salmanov was unanimously elected as the new chairman of BEU's SSS. He stated that, in order to justify the trust shown in him, he would work to further strengthen the society's activities.
Aghasi Malikov wished the new chairman success in his work and shared his recommendations for the society to play a more active role in the university's scientific life.
In closing, certificates were presented to a group of SSS members for their active participation in international scientific conferences held at BEU this year.
