BEU Rector Visit Azerbaijani Embassy in Korea

Baku Engineering University (BEU) Rector Yagub Piriyev visited the Azerbaijani Embassy in the Republic of Korea (South) as part of his official visit to the country.

 

At the meeting, Ambassador Ramin Hasanov expressed his pleasure at welcoming the BEU delegation. He also drew attention to the importance of cooperation in the field of education with Korea, one of the world's leading nations. The Ambassador noted that regular meetings are held with students currently in their final year of study in the country under the joint degree programme implemented between BEU and INHA University of Korea, and that the Embassy maintains ongoing interest in their day-to-day wellbeing.

 

Rector Yagub Piriyev emphasised the significance of the "State Programme for Increasing the International Competitiveness of the Higher Education System of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019–2023," approved by a relevant Decree of President Ilham Aliyev. He noted that the programme, whose implementation period was extended until 2030 last year, aims to train a new generation of specialists by drawing on the most advanced scientific achievements and innovative technologies, as well as to modernise the content and quality indicators of the higher education system through international joint degree programmes. The Rector expressed his gratitude for the attention shown to the 114 students currently completing their final year of study at INHA University.

 

Matters of academic and scholarly cooperation were also discussed at the meeting.

 

It is to be noted that the principal objectives of the visit to South Korea are to participate in the Steering Committee meeting of the BEU-INHA DDP, to sign an agreement on the continuation of cooperation under the second phase of the project, and to meet with final-year students currently pursuing their studies at INHA University.
