BEU's Carpet Workshop Featured on ITV's MAG Program

The latest episode of the MAG (Modern Azerbaijani Youth) program, broadcast on Public Television (ITV), was dedicated to the Carpet Workshop of Baku Engineering University (BEU). The episode, titled "Sketch, Color, Weave - Everything About Carpet Weaving," offered an extensive presentation of Azerbaijan's rich carpet-weaving traditions, professional training in the field, and the creative process.

The episode provided detailed information about the "Decorative and Applied Arts" specialty, which has been taught at BEU since last year, showcasing the theoretical and practical knowledge students acquire in carpet weaving, as well as footage from classes held at the Carpet Workshop.

This edition of MAG also featured interviews with Vaqif Mammadov, Head of the Design Department at BEU, and Minakhanim Huseynova, Senior Lecturer of the department. The interviews covered views on preserving the art of carpet weaving, increasing young people's interest in the field, and the importance of practical sessions in teaching decorative and applied arts.

The report once again demonstrated that at BEU, carpet weaving is taught not merely as an art form, but as a mission to preserve national and cultural values and pass them on to future generations.
