Rector of BEU Meets with Dual Degree Program Students in Korea

Within the framework of the dual degree program (BEU-INHA DDP) implemented between Baku Engineering University and INHA University, a meeting was held with students continuing their final year of studies in the Republic of Korea (South Korea).

 

Welcoming the students and congratulating them on completing their fourth-year studies in Korea, the Rector of BEU, Yagub Piriyev, noted that dual degree programs play an important role in the formation of highly qualified, innovative-minded human capital capable of operating in an international competitive environment, in line with the country’s strategic development priorities. The Rector drew attention to the large-scale restoration, reconstruction, and sustainable development measures carried out in the liberated territories under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, emphasizing their particular importance for the country’s socio-economic progress. He stated that providing the emerging new economic and infrastructural environment with professional personnel is one of the strategic tasks. In this regard, it was highlighted that graduates of the dual degree program, who have acquired knowledge and skills in accordance with international standards, can make a significant contribution to the effective implementation of construction and management processes.

 

Referring to the implementation process of the BEU–INHA DDP, the Rector emphasized that students bear significant responsibility in the successful execution of the program. He noted that students’ high academic performance and continuous development of their professional knowledge and skills are crucial for achieving the program’s main objectives, and stated that providing comprehensive support to students by the university will remain a priority.

 

The meeting was then addressed by Nicat Mammadli, Chairman of the Board of the Education Development Fund under the Ministry of Science and Education, Mikayil Zeynalov, Vice-Rector for Financial and Economic Affairs of BEU, Atraba Gul, Vice-Rector for International Relations, Humay Jafarli, Program Director of the BEU-INHA DDP, and others.

 

During the meeting, students’ questions regarding daily matters were clarified.

 

For your information, within the framework of the IDP based on the 3+1 model, students study for three years at BEU and complete their final year at INHA University. Currently, 114 students are studying at INHA University. Students’ living, tuition, travel, and insurance expenses are covered under the “State Program on Increasing the International Competitiveness of the Higher Education System in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019–2023.”
