Cooperation Discussed Between BEU and an NamSTU

The first online meeting was held between Baku Engineering University (BEU) and Namangan State Technical University (NamSTU), one of the reputable higher education institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The meeting was attended by faculty members from both universities.

During the meeting, an extensive exchange of views took place on future cooperation prospects between the parties. In particular, issues such as the implementation of joint scientific research, academic staff and student exchange, including the organization of programs within the framework of winter and summer schools, international projects, as well as the development of new partnership formats were discussed.

BEU Vice-Rector for International Relations Atraba Gul emphasized that establishing and developing ties with leading technical higher education institutions of Uzbekistan is of particular importance for BEU. She added that the friendly and brotherly relations between the two countries, as well as the broad potential of the universities, create ample opportunities for further strengthening cooperation.

During the discussions, it was noted that NamSTU holds a leading position in the region in the fields of technical education, engineering, and innovation, and plays an important role in organizing scientific research activities. The university’s scientific potential and its experience in cooperation with industry were highly appreciated.

The meeting also featured presentations on the role of universities in the development of regional industrial sectors, as well as their future strategic goals. The parties reached a preliminary agreement on expanding cooperation in several areas, jointly submitting a project to the Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan joint projects competition based on collaboration, and signing a memorandum of understanding between the universities in the near future.
