Event on "What is SSS?" Held at BEU

An event dedicated to the activity of the Student Scientific Society (SSS) titled "What is SSS?" was held at Baku Engineering University (BEU).

The main purpose of the event was to closely familiarize first-year students with the activity, structure, and opportunities offered by the SSS, to increase their interest in science and innovation, and to support the development of their research skills.

Speaking at the event, Aghasi Malikov, Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation at BEU, discussed the importance of building interest in research activity during one's student years. The Vice-Rector emphasized the importance of students combining the theoretical knowledge they gain at the university with research activity, working on various scientific topics, and putting forward new ideas. He noted that involving students in scientific activity from an early stage makes an important contribution to developing their analytical and critical thinking, research, and presentation skills. Aghasi Malikov called on first-year students to conduct research in the scientific fields that interest them and to actively participate in the university's scientific environment.

Also speaking at the event were Mayis Azizov, Head of BEU's Science and Innovation Department; Bunyamin Seyidov, Head of the Technology Transfer Center of the Technopark; Bahman Mammadov, Scientific Supervisor of the SSS; and Zamina Akhundova, Head of the university's Artistic Creativity Division. Their remarks provided students with detailed information about the SSS's areas of activity, its goals, and the opportunities it creates for students. It was noted that the SSS is an important platform for involving students in scientific activity, developing their research skills, and ensuring their active participation in the university's scientific environment.

Attention was drawn to the opportunities created at the university for students to prepare scientific articles and abstracts, participate in various scientific conferences, competitions, and projects, and realize their own scientific ideas. It was noted that students' innovative ideas and startup initiatives are supported at BEU, and that appropriate conditions exist for them to develop their future projects in this direction.

The speeches also emphasized the importance of students making use of the opportunities offered by the university to reveal their creative potential alongside their scientific activity. It was noted that students interested in artistic creativity and various fields of art can join the activities of the university's relevant groups and divisions in order to develop their skills and realize their creative potential.

As part of the event, the faculty-level SSS chairpersons were also introduced to the students. In addition, participants' questions regarding the preparation of scientific articles and abstracts, the selection of research topics, and the presentation of research results were answered.

The event concluded with an artistic program presented by BEU's amateur performance ensemble.
