Results of AI-Supported Teaching Project Discussed at BEU

A scientific-methodological seminar was held at the Faculty of Economics and Management of Baku Engineering University (BEU). The seminar, organized in accordance with the 4th direction of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (Quality Education), discussed the results of a project implemented on the application of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) tools.

 

At the opening of the seminar, the dean of the faculty, Nasimi Kamalov, noted that the project was implemented as a pilot at BEU and the Azerbaijan State University of Economics. It was stated that within the framework of the project, classes were conducted for 4 groups at the faculty with the application of GenAI tools, a survey was conducted among students in accordance with evaluation procedures, and based on the results, the vast majority assessed the effectiveness of the classes highly.

 

Subsequently, Professor Saleh Mammadov from the Department of Finance and Accounting, who contributed to the implementation of the project at the university, delivered an extensive presentation. He emphasized that the integration of Copilot, Grok AI, ChatGPT, DeepSeek AI, Gemini, ROWs, Triplex and other generative artificial intelligence tools into teaching creates significant advantages in terms of innovation, quality and practical benefits in higher education. It was reported that GenAI-supported classes increase students' learning motivation and have a positive impact on the development of analytical and creative skills.

 

A report on the AI-supported teaching pilot project was also presented within the framework of the seminar. The report provided detailed information on the methodology applied, results obtained, student satisfaction, teacher effectiveness, future perspectives, short-term plans, medium and long-term goals, and other aspects.

 

During the seminar, which continued with discussions, the importance of the project as a positive model for the integration of artificial intelligence in the Azerbaijani education system was emphasized, and the expansion of this experience was recommended.
