BEU Hosts Scientific Seminar with Participation of SOCAR Specialist

A scientific seminar has been held at Baku Engineering University (BEU) for the academic staff of the Departments of Mechanics, Machinery, Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering, as well as students and doctoral students.

The seminar was dedicated to the technological features of the production of the upper power transmission feeder pipe, which is widely used in the oil industry.

Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department at BEU, professor Mahir Bashirov noted that such events aim to strengthen the theoretical knowledge of students with practical approaches. It was emphasized that obtaining information about modern technologies applied in the industry directly from industry experts makes a significant contribution to the future professional activities of students.

Later, Ilgar Shiraliyev, Head of the Offshore Maintenance Group of SOCAR AQS, made a report. The speech discussed in detail the working principle of the feeder pipe, which is the main part of the upper power transmission used in the oil industry, its operational characteristics, their failure and prevention. I. Shiraliyev pointed out that the technological features of the production of the upper power transmission feeder pipe in oil industry enterprises play a special role in the industry. He also touched upon the technologies of applying a chrome coating to the working surface to increase the longevity of the feeder pipe.

At the end, the questions of the academic staff and students were answered, and an exchange of views on the topic was held.
