BEU Hosts Training on Scopus and ProQuest Central

At Baku Engineering University (BEU), a training session was organized for researchers on the effective use of the Scopus and ProQuest Central scientific databases.

Held in line with the 9th Sustainable Development Goal of the UN (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), the main objective of the training was to enhance researchers’ scientific information literacy, expand their access to digital scientific infrastructure, and contribute to the development of an innovative research environment.

During the event, Mayis Azizov, Head of the Science and Innovation Department at BEU, provided detailed information on the analysis of scientific articles, evaluation of citation metrics (citation count, h-index, etc.), and the establishment of effective search strategies in international scientific databases. He also explained the principles of proper and ethical use of scientific resources, and discussed ways to increase recognition in the international scientific community and improve the quality indicators of research activities.

The session concluded with a discussion on the topic, during which participants’ questions were addressed.
