Delivering congratulatory remarks, BEU Rector Yagub Piriyev stated that Nowruz is one of the oldest and most beloved holidays that embodies our people's national and moral values. He emphasized that Nowruz, a holiday of peace and pure intentions, has for centuries held an important place in people's lives as a symbol of abundance, prosperity, renewal, and hope, and serves to strengthen the spirit of solidarity, warmth, and unity in our society.
Yagub Piriyev noted that Nowruz is being celebrated with great joy and deep pride throughout Azerbaijan, whose territorial integrity and sovereignty have been ensured. At the conclusion of his address, Yagub Piriyev extended his sincerest congratulations and best wishes to the staff and students on the occasion of the Novruz and Ramadan holidays.
The Rector then lit the festive bonfire, a symbol of Nowruz. The university community and students performed the yalli folk dance around the holiday bonfire.
