Event on "Baku 2030: Youth Vision for Urban Planning" Held at BEU

An event titled "Baku 2030: Youth Vision for Urban Planning" was held at Baku Engineering University (BEU) as part of the "Cities of the Future" Youth Week.

At the event, it was noted that the week is being conducted within the framework of the "Year of Urban Planning and Architecture" and the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF 13) to be held in Azerbaijan. Its aims include raising interest among young people in the fields of urban planning and architecture, promoting innovative approaches, and expanding awareness-raising activities in this direction.

This campaign, a joint initiative of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture and the UN Human Settlements Programme, is being implemented with the support of the Youth Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan and organized by the Union of Azerbaijani Student Youth Organizations.

At the event, Head of the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning Sabir Orujov delivered a speech, emphasizing the significance of such initiatives and highlighting the importance of young people's participation in global projects, noting that their innovative approaches and new ideas can make a substantial contribution to the urban planning process.

Subsequently, members of the BEU Student Youth Organization and other speakers provided information about the WUF13 process and the wide range of opportunities this platform creates for young people.

During the event, views were expressed on contemporary approaches to urban planning and the development of urban infrastructure, including smart city solutions, ecological balance, optimization of transportation systems, and the formation of sustainable urban environments. Perspectives on future urban models and innovative solutions were also presented.

The event concluded with a panel discussion in which students' questions were answered and an exchange of views on the topic took place.
