BEU Scientist’s Joint Research Wins in Türkiye

The joint research project carried out by Namig Shikhaliyev, Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering at Baku Engineering University (BEU), together with Turkish scientists, has been selected as a winner under the Academic Support Program (YÖK-ADEP) of the Council of Higher Education of the Republic of Türkiye (YÖK).

The project is implemented under the leadership of Dr. Sedef Kaptan Usul, a faculty member of the Department of Bioengineering at Gebze Technical University. The research, titled “Development and Production of Boron-Doped PCL/Chitosan Fiber-Based Nanocomposites for Hemostatic Applications,” holds significant scientific importance in terms of the development of modern biomaterials. It is also expected that the results will be applied in the fields of bioengineering and medicine.

As the principal researcher, Namig Shikhaliyev plays an active role in studies on the development and characterization of fiber-based carrier structures.

The project also represents an important contribution to the expansion of BEU’s international scientific relations.

It should be noted that the YÖK-ADEP program promotes the development of scientific research in higher education institutions, strengthens inter-university cooperation, and supports innovative projects.
