Training on Principles and Approaches of Inclusive Education Held at BEU

A training session on the topic "Inclusivity in Education: Principles and Approaches" was held at Baku Engineering University (BEU).

Organized by the University's Strategy and Quality Assurance Department, the primary objectives of the training were to raise awareness of the fundamental principles of inclusive education, contemporary approaches, and the possibilities for their application in a higher education environment, while also drawing attention to the potential contributions of this field to the university's strategic development, quality assurance system, and international standing.

During the training, the university's senior lecturer and Doctor of Philosophy in Education, Elshad Yunusov, delivered a detailed presentation covering the essence of inclusive education, student-centered teaching models, ensuring equal educational opportunities, expanding accessibility in the educational environment, and the application of diversity principles.

It was noted that inclusive approaches are assessed within international ranking systems - including QS World University Rankings and Times Higher Education - under the criteria of social responsibility, equity, and diversity, and that these indicators play a significant role in shaping the global competitiveness of universities.

It was emphasized that the development of inclusive education holds strategic importance not only from the perspective of social responsibility, but also in terms of improving the accreditation indicators of higher education institutions and strengthening their international standing.

The training continued with interactive discussions, during which participants' questions were addressed. It is envisaged that training sessions in the area of inclusivity will continue to be held in the future.

It is worth noting that the training makes a significant contribution to the 4th (Quality Education), and 10th (Reduced Inequalities) goals of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
