Number of Scopus-Indexed Articles by BEU Staff Has Doubled in the Past Year

The number of Scopus-indexed scientific articles at Baku Engineering University (BEU) in 2025 has increased significantly compared to 2024. Statistical indicators reflect the sustained development dynamics in the university's scientific activities in both qualitative and quantitative terms in recent years. Based on the results of the comparative analysis conducted, positive growth has been observed across all categories in the Scopus scientometric database.

 

The number of articles by BEU scholars in the Q1 category increased by 147.6%, in the Q2 category by 95.2%, in the Q3 category by 45.5%, and in the Q4 category by 115.8%. Overall, the number of Scopus-indexed articles at BEU has increased by more than 100% over the course of one year, more than doubling.

 

These indicators and the significant achievement attained not only demonstrate the sustained development of the research environment at BEU, but also confirm that strengthening academic potential and integration with the international scientific community have been identified as priority directions. The successful presentation of BEU scholars' scientific results, particularly in high-impact international journals, has made a significant contribution to strengthening the university's position in international scientific indices and enhancing its scientific prestige.

 

Based on the analyses conducted, among the most productive authors with the highest number of articles published in Q1 and Q2 category journals are Professor Aghasi Melikov (Mathematics and Computer Sciences), Professor Islam Islamov (Automation, Telecommunications and Energy), Professor Rakib Afandiyev (Mathematics and Computer Sciences), Assoc. Prof. Namig Shikhaliyev (Chemical Engineering), Assoc. Prof. Shahriyar Mukhtarov (Scientific Research Center), and Assoc. Prof. Ravan Rahimov (Food and Biotechnology). The analyses indicate that the scientific publications of these authors have been published primarily in journals with high impact indicators and have played an important role in improving the university's overall scientific-statistical performance.

 

The effective scientific activities of BEU staff have had a significant impact on increasing the university's level of representation in the Scopus database and further strengthening its scientific potential. This positive result demonstrates the consecutive achievements gained by the university in the scientific field and the consolidation of its position in the international scientific environment.
