Admission Plan for BUCT-BEU Faculty of Engineering Filled 100 Percent

The first admission for the 2026/2027 academic year has been carried out at the BUCT-BEU Faculty of Engineering, jointly established by Baku Engineering University (BEU) and Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT), one of the leading higher education institutions of the People's Republic of China. The admission plan established for the newly created faculty has been fulfilled 100 percent.

As envisaged, a total of 100 students were admitted, with 25 students admitted to each of the faculty's specialties - Computer Science, Chemistry, Biotechnology, and Mechanical Engineering. Of the 100 admitted students, 57 scored above 500 points. Of these, 51 scored between 500-600 points, and 6 scored above 600 points.

The full fulfillment of the admission plan in the faculty's first year of operation, along with the fact that 57 percent of admitted students scored above 500 points, is an important indicator of the high level of interest in the BUCT-BEU Faculty of Engineering and of the academic preparation level of the emerging student body.

The educational process at the BUCT-BEU Faculty of Engineering will be organized within the framework of the dual-degree program on the basis of a 3+1 model. In accordance with this model, students will complete the first three years of their studies at BEU and the final year at BUCT. Graduates who successfully complete the educational program will be awarded diplomas from both higher education institutions.

The teaching process at the faculty will be carried out with the participation of highly qualified faculty members from both BEU and BUCT. Students will have the opportunity to benefit from the academic and scientific potential, modern teaching methods, and advanced academic experience of both universities.

The launch of the new faculty, covering important directions of engineering and technology within the framework of cooperation with China, holds significant importance for expanding BEU's international academic partnership network, strengthening the training of highly qualified personnel in modern engineering fields, and integrating students into the global academic environment. This educational model, based on the joint academic and scientific potential of BUCT and BEU, will contribute to equipping students with modern engineering knowledge and professional competencies, as well as raising their level of preparedness for the international academic and professional environment.
