Cooperation with BEU discussed at Ministry of Defense Industry

A delegation led by Yagub Piriyev, Rector of Baku Engineering University (BEU), visited the Ministry of Defense Industry of the Republic of Azerbaijan. During the meeting with Hidayat Azimov, Deputy Minister of Defense Industry, comprehensive information was provided on BEU’s teaching and research capabilities, the university Technopark, and planned work in the defense industry sector.

At the meeting, detailed information was presented on the activity directions for human capital development determined by the Ministry of Defense Industry for 2025-2030. At the same time, new projects planned for implementation in 2026 based on university-industry-government cooperation were discussed with the aim of forming a strong defense industry ecosystem. Additionally, the results of the "DefAge Bootcamp" project, successfully implemented in 2025, were presented.

During the discussions, the importance of establishing a research and development-based, knowledge-intensive ecosystem was particularly emphasized in order to ensure the long-term and sustainable development of the defense industry in our country.

An exchange of views was held on strengthening joint activities in the mentioned directions and ensuring the continuity of the process, and it was agreed that such meetings would be held regularly.

The BEU Rector also participated in events held in connection with the professional holiday of the Ministry of Defense Industry employees and the 20th anniversary of the ministry's establishment.
