Orientation meetings with newly admitted first-year students have begun at Baku Engineering University (BEU). The first meeting was held with the participation of students admitted to the Faculty of Information and Computer Technologies.
Speaking at the meeting, the faculty's Dean, Vagif Gasimov, congratulated the students on behalf of the university's leadership on the start of the new academic year, and provided detailed information on adapting to university life, making effective use of educational opportunities, and successfully organizing their academic activities. At the same time, information was shared about the faculty's activities, teaching opportunities, the prospects awaiting students, and the opportunities created for their development at the university.
At the meeting, representatives of the university's relevant structural units and student organizations spoke, informing students about the electronic management of the teaching process, international cooperation projects, modern laboratories, library services, student affairs, career opportunities, and alumni relations. The opportunities available for students to actively participate in the public, scientific, and social life of the university, which has an expansive campus, were highlighted, and students' questions of interest were answered.
Alongside this, an exam was held to place students admitted to the English-language sections of the specialties taught at the faculty into groups matching their level of language proficiency, in order to ensure more effective development of their English language skills.
It should be noted that orientation meetings with first-year students of other faculties will be organized in the coming days. A separate orientation meeting is also planned for students admitted to the first year of part-time (correspondence) education.
