BEU Student Presents "BioQaz" Project at Agro Business Forum

The 100th Agro Business Festival was held in Aghdam, jointly organized by the Agrarian Innovation Center under the Ministry of Agriculture and the Special Representative Office of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Aghdam, Fuzuli and Khojavand districts. Emil Salmanov, a third-year student at the Department of Food and Biotechnology of the Faculty of Engineering at Baku Engineering University (BEU) and Chairman of the Student Scientific Society (SSS), took part in the festival.

Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov, Emin Huseynov, Special Representative of the President in the Aghdam, Fuzuli, and Khojavand districts, and event participants visited the stands displayed at the festival.

Within the framework of the Festival, BEU's "BioQaz" project was presented. The project involves processing grape and fruit waste under special fermentation conditions to produce methane gas.

Based on the concept of "From Waste to Energy — From an Innovative Approach to a Sustainable Future," the project's main goal is to efficiently valorize agricultural and food industry waste, create alternative energy sources, and contribute to the application of innovative solutions in line with the principles of the circular economy.

The event featured an exchange of views on innovations in the agricultural sector, green energy technologies, waste management, and prospects for the development of sustainable agriculture.

It should be noted that BEU's participation in the Forum took place within the framework of cooperation carried out between the Agrarian Innovation Center and BEU's Technopark.
