BEU Students Among the Latest Graduates of the Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Center
February 9, 2026
Students of Baku Engineering University (BEU) have once again been among the graduates of the Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Center (ACC), established jointly by the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, the Innovation and Digital Development Agency (IDDA), and Israel’s Technion – Israel Institute of Technology.
At the 6th “Graduation Day,” BEU Rector Yagub Piriyev and students who distinguished themselves in the Center’s training and programs participated in the event.
At the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Samir Mammadov, Israeli Ambassador to Azerbaijan Ronen Kraus, Director of the Technion University Center for Continuing Education Moti Yeger, representatives of IDDA, and others delivered speeches highlighting the importance of workforce development in cybersecurity, the role of international cooperation, and the achievements of the Center.
Certificates were subsequently presented to the graduates. Among them, Arzu Salehova, a third-year student of the “Information Technologies” program at BEU’s Faculty of Information and Computer Technologies, and Həbizat Abbasova, a fourth-year student of the “Information Security” program, were also awarded certificates.
Within the framework of the Center’s sixth cohort, a total of 100 individuals successfully completed professional development and individualized training programs and earned the title of graduate. The program aims to enhance the professional cybersecurity workforce in the country, develop practical knowledge and skills, and integrate international experience into the local environment. To date, hundreds of young specialists have been trained and introduced into the labor market.
It should be noted that BEU students being among the graduates of the Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Center is not unprecedented. In previous cohorts, BEU students were also represented among ACC graduates, distinguishing themselves through their knowledge and skills. This reflects the tangible outcomes of the university’s targeted teaching and training in information technologies and cybersecurity.
