BEU Rector Attends Event within Student Camp, Meets with Students
September 9, 2026An event titled "Urban Planning and Architecture: A Look to the Future," held within the framework of the "Year of Urban Planning and Architecture," was organized at the "Tahsil" Recreation Center in the Khachmaz district, by the Republican Committee of the Trade Union of Science and Education Employees (ETIHI), a member organization of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan.
The event, organized within the framework of a student camp held from September 7 to 12, was attended by rectors of higher education institutions, other leading figures in the field of education, and students.
At the event, following the performance of the State Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the heroes who were martyred for Azerbaijan's territorial integrity was honored with a moment of silence.
Speeches at the event were delivered by Araz Pashayev, Chairman of the ETIHI Republican Committee; Mirza Jafarzade, Deputy Chairman; Gulchohra Mammadova, Rector of Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction; and Ilgar Bayramli, Director of the State Agency for Vocational Education. The speeches provided information on the significance of the "Year of Urban Planning and Architecture," projects being carried out for students' development and the effective organization of their leisure time, as well as initiatives planned for the upcoming period. It was highlighted that in the coming years, student camps will be organized along specialty-oriented lines, and more innovative projects will be implemented.
As part of the event, Baku Engineering University (BEU) Rector Yagub Piriyev met with BEU students taking part in the camp. During the meeting, the rector inquired about the students' impressions of the camp, their studies, and their future development plans, and wished them success. Yagub Piriyev emphasized that active participation in such projects plays an important role in students' personal and professional development.
Afterward, the event's participants became acquainted with the facilities created for students at the "Tahsil" Recreation Center.
It should be noted that, within the framework of the camp, intellectual competitions, football, volleyball, and chess tournaments, photo and film contests, as well as various cultural and social programs are planned for students.
