Scientific Article by BEU Professor Published in a Q1 International Journal

A scientific article co-authored by Professor Agasi Malikoglu, Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation at Baku Engineering University (BEU), has been published in the Q1-ranked international journal Methodology and Computing in Applied Probability, which is indexed in the Scopus database.

The article titled “Analysis of BMAP/PH/c Retrial Queue with Threshold-Controlled Retrials and Synchronous Working Vacation” analyzes a multi-server retrial queueing system based on BMAP-type batch arrivals and phase-type service times. Within the scope of the research, factors such as a threshold-based retrial mechanism, synchronous working vacation mode of servers, and customer impatience were taken into account.

The model was constructed using a multidimensional Markov chain, through which the system’s stationary probabilities and key performance indicators were determined. The obtained results demonstrate that changes in parameters have a significant impact on the efficiency of the service system.
