Eight BEU master’s students to continue their studies in China under a dual degree program

Within the framework of the dual degree program implemented at the master’s level between Baku Engineering University (BEU) and the Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture (BUCEA), eight students will depart for the People’s Republic of China tomorrow to continue their education.
At a meeting organized at the university on this occasion, BEU Vice-Rector for International Affairs Atraba Gul stated that the program not only provides students with the opportunity to obtain two diplomas, but also creates conditions for their development within an international academic environment, familiarization with various scientific schools, and training as competitive specialists in the global labor market.
It was noted that China’s higher education system stands out for its discipline, high academic standards, and strong research traditions. Studying in this environment will deepen the master’s students’ theoretical knowledge while also enhancing their practical skills and independent research capabilities. The Vice-Rector also emphasized that the program jointly implemented with BUCEA is an important component of the university’s internationalization strategy and opens up new academic, technological, and cultural opportunities for students.
During the meeting, the students selected for the program were provided with detailed information about the upcoming academic process, the education system, and the new stage of life ahead of them. At the same time, information was presented on the characteristics of Chinese society, daily life rules, cultural values, and norms of social behavior. The importance of respecting the laws and traditions of the host country, demonstrating academic responsibility and discipline, and достойно representing Azerbaijan’s higher education system and national values was emphasized.
At the end of the meeting, the students’ questions were answered and they were wished success in their studies.
For information, under the cooperation memorandum signed between BEU and BUCEA, a dual degree program is implemented in two models in the specialties of “Architecture,” “Civil Engineering,” “Environmental Engineering,” “Information Technologies,” and “Mechanical Engineering.” The education process is organized in a 0.5+2.5-year format: students complete the first semester of the program at BEU and the following three semesters at BUCEA. The main objective of the program is to train highly qualified and competitive specialists with international experience.
Students selected for the program in accordance with the established criteria will receive master’s diplomas from both universities upon completion of their studies.
