BEU's Scientific Journal Rises to Q2 Level in International Rankings

The scientific journal "Journal of Contemporary and Applied Mathematics" (journalcam.com), of which Rakib Afandiyev, Doctor of Mathematical Sciences and Head of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Sciences at Baku Engineering University (BEU), serves as Editor-in-Chief, has achieved a significant milestone in the international ranking system.

The journal has made a major leap in the Scopus/SCImago index quartile rankings, advancing from Q4 to Q2. This is a tangible result of BEU's commitment to scientific research, and a considerable increase in the publication's international prestige, citation index, and academic impact.

As is widely known, scientific journals are ranked according to the quartile system, from Q1 to Q4. The Q2 category represents a significant tier occupied by high-quality journals.

This landmark advancement not only demonstrates that articles published in the journal are being cited more frequently by other researchers and that the publication has gained broader recognition within the international scientific community, but also stands as a clear testament to the growing global recognition of the Azerbaijani school of mathematics and its academic community as a whole. The achievement highlights the improving quality of scientific publications in the country and the strengthening integration into the global academic system.

It is important to emphasize that in recent years the journal's editorial policy has been aligned with international standards, and the article selection and peer review processes have been further refined. As a result of the editorial leadership's strategic approach, rigorous academic standards, and an open policy toward international collaboration, the publication has demonstrated a remarkable qualitative leap in a short period of time. In particular, attracting prominent researchers to the journal, elevating the academic quality of articles, and increasing activity within indexing databases are among the key factors behind this success.
