Six Programs at BEU Receive International Accreditation

Six undergraduate programs at Baku Engineering University (BEU) have been accredited by IAAR (Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating), a prestigious international accreditation body. Within the framework of the accreditation process, educational programs covering two clusters which include "Information Security," "Computer Engineering," "Information Technologies," "Chemical Engineering," "Mechanical Engineering," "Electrical and Electronics Engineering" specialities have been deemed compliant with international standards. This is a first in BEU's history, and the accreditation has been granted for a five-year period, which is considered one of the highest benchmarks in international practice for higher education programs.

In BEU's Strategic Development Plan covering the years 2025-2030, enhancing the quality of education and obtaining international accreditation for educational programs are among the key strategic objectives. International accreditation holds significant importance in terms of ensuring compliance of educational and scientific activities with global standards, increasing the competitiveness of students and graduates at the international level, expanding their opportunities for education and career abroad, and simultaneously strengthening the university's international cooperation relations. The accreditation process also promotes the sustainable development of higher education institutions and contributes to the systematic enhancement of teaching quality.

This significant achievement represents another indicator of BEU's consistent and purposeful efforts in preparing competitive, internationally recognized personnel in the fields of engineering and technology.

During the evaluation conducted by IAAR, the content of educational programs, organization of teaching, professional level of academic staff, material and technical infrastructure, student-centered approach, and quality assurance mechanisms were thoroughly analyzed.

It should be noted that IAAR is a prestigious international accreditation agency specializing in quality assurance in higher education. Recognized by the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) and registered in the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR), the agency carries out accreditation of educational programs at higher education institutions in various countries, and its decisions serve to enhance the transparency, accountability, and quality of higher education.
