12 BEU Students Selected for International "IT SkillSprint" Program

Twelve students from the Faculty of Information and Computer Technologies at Baku Engineering University (BEU) have been admitted to the intensive international-level "IT SkillSprint" educational program. Designed for students of higher education institutions, the program aims to prepare specialized human capital in the field of information technology in accordance with the requirements of the digital economy.

 

BEU is represented in the program by third-year students studying Information Security, Information Technology, and Computer Science. The selected students include Sadat Musayev, Chichak Abdullayeva, Elshad Kasimov, Fidail Valiyev, Rauf Jafar, Adil Hasanov, Agha Hajiyev, Ismayil Abdullayev, Ruzi Khanjanov, Ulvi Hajiyev, Nihad Bagirzade, and Mikayil Guliyev.

 

The program's opening ceremony was held on February 16. The project is being implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, the Ministry of Science and Education, the Innovation and Digital Development Agency, the State Agency for Science and Higher Education, as well as the international training company Ironhack.

 

Officials speaking at the event emphasized that the program represents an effective cooperation model between higher education and the labor market. It was noted that the initiative will provide participants with competitive knowledge and skills in both local and international labor markets.

 

According to information, more than 1,100 applications were received for the program, with 123 candidates successfully passing the selection stage. The inclusion of 12 BEU students in this list is regarded as an indicator of the university's preparedness level in the field of information technology.

 

The program covers "DevOps and Cloud Computing," "Data and AI," "Cybersecurity," and "Web Development" tracks. To be implemented in a "bootcamp" format, the program will provide students with opportunities to work on real projects, build portfolios, and integrate into the labor market through hackathons, career fairs, and networking events. The training will last six months, from February to July 2026. Participants who successfully complete the program will be awarded certificates from the internationally recognized company Ironhack.
