August 4, 2026
Internal exams have been held for admission to the international dual degree program (BEU-INHA DDP) implemented between Baku Engineering University and INHA University of the Republic of Korea for the 2026/2027 academic year at the bachelor's level.
The entrance exams jointly organized by BEU and INHA University consisted of 2 stages. In the first stage of the exam, the applicants' knowledge in mathematics and physics was assessed within 1 hour. In this part, 12 test tasks were presented in mathematics and 8 in physics. The second stage was held in English and included 30 test questions, including a listening component.
All necessary organizational and technical measures were taken to ensure transparent and objective conduct of the exams. A delegation of 9 people from INHA University, as well as about 10 employees of BEU, were involved in the exam process.
BEU Rector Yagub Piriyev and the university's management team observed the exam process on site and got acquainted with the organizational issues and the course of the exam. During the introduction to the exam process, the rector emphasized that interest in the international dual diploma program is growing year by year. The fact that applicants who scored high points in this year's admission process gave more preference to the program is one of the most obvious indicators of its reputation, quality of education and the trust it has gained in society. The Rector noted that the young people who chose this program and earned the opportunity to enroll in it are indeed fortunate. Congratulating the students on reaching this important milestone, Yagub Piriyev wished them continued success and stated that the BMU–INHA Double Degree Program provides students with extensive opportunities to receive a high-quality education of international standards, acquire modern knowledge and skills, and build successful careers.
The Rector further highlighted that the vast majority of graduates from the Double Degree Program, which has been successfully implemented for the past six years, have secured employment at prestigious local and international companies. He added that this serves as one of the strongest indicators of the program's effectiveness and its alignment with the demands of the labor market.
A total of 104 people are planned to be admitted to the international dual diploma program at full state expense for the 2026/2027 academic year, that is, 26 people in each specialty. About 500 applicants have registered to take part in the internal entrance exam. Of the 363 people who confirmed their participation and took part in the exam, 199 were candidates who scored more than 500 points in the entrance exams held by the State Examination Center (SEC). 45 of these candidates scored in the range of 600-700 points, and 154 scored in the range of 500-600 points.
The results of the internal entrance exams are planned to be announced on August 6, 2026.
In the current academic year, admissions are being held in 4 specialties under the dual degree program implemented on the basis of the 3+1 model. These are "Computer Science" (Artificial Intelligence Engineering), "Data Analytics" (Data Science), "Information Technologies" and "Electrical and Electronics Engineering".
The list of candidates admitted to the BEU-INHA DDP is submitted to the Ministry of Science and Education for approval and then officially registered by the SEC. Since the candidates admitted to the program have obtained the status of official BEU-INHA DDP students, they do not participate in the SEC specialty selection (coding) stage. Moreover, the time for the announcement of the results has been planned accordingly so that candidates who are not admitted to the program can participate in the SEC specialty selection process.
The BEU-INHA dual degree program has been implemented within the framework of the “State Program on Increasing the International Competitiveness of the Higher Education System in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019-2023” since 2020. In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On Additional Measures to Increase the International Competitiveness of the Higher Education System in the Republic of Azerbaijan” dated July 22, 2025, the implementation period of the program has been extended until 2030.
