Cooperation between BEU and Bulgaria's Naval Academy Discussed

Rear Admiral Professor Kalin Kalinov, Rector of the Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy of the Republic of Bulgaria, Colonel Ramil Akhundov, Head of the Fundamental Sciences Department at the National Defense University of Azerbaijan and Doctor of Philosophy in National Security and Military Sciences, and Colonel Elnur Mammadov, another staff member of the university, visited Baku Engineering University (BEU).

 

BEU Rector Yagub Piriyev, meeting with the guests, provided information about the university's areas of activity, particularly the modern teaching model applied in engineering, information technology, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and other innovative specializations, as well as digital infrastructure and international cooperation directions. Emphasizing the reforms implemented in the education sector in our country under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, the rector stated that the steps taken have opened new opportunities for the modernization of universities and expansion of international cooperation.

 

Yagub Piriyev also spoke about the expansion of the university's international relations. He emphasized that BEU cooperates with higher education institutions of both South Korea and the People's Republic of China within the framework of dual degree programs. Noting the progress achieved with Asian higher education institutions and future prospects, the rector expressed hope that cooperation with Bulgaria, located in the European space, would also create new perspectives.

 

Kalin Kalinov, Rector of the Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy, in turn delivered an extensive presentation about the activities of the higher education institution he leads, educational programs, as well as projects implemented in the fields of marine engineering, aviation, and naval security. It was reported that the academy, founded in 1881, is the first technical higher education institution established in Bulgaria. The rector emphasized the importance of experience exchange in the fields of engineering, information security and advanced technologies.

 

During the meeting, the parties discussed the organization of joint research, student and faculty exchanges, conducting scientific seminars, and cooperation opportunities in information technology and artificial intelligence. Future prospects for participation in joint projects and programs were also addressed.

 

At the end, the guests became acquainted with BEU’s laboratories.
