BEU Begins Cooperation with ACRL

A cooperation agreement has been signed between Baku Engineering University (BEU) and the Association of Azerbaijan Customs Representation and Logistics Companies (ACRL).

The main purpose of the agreement is to ensure ACRL’s provision with qualified specialists, enhance the professional knowledge and skills of its employees, as well as organize joint activities aimed at applying new technologies and scientific innovations in production processes and strengthening education–industry relations. Within the framework of the cooperation, it is planned to train qualified personnel meeting modern requirements, involve ACRL specialists in the university’s teaching process, organize internships for students, implement programs, and conduct joint scientific research. The parties will also jointly work toward training specialists in line with labor market demands, supporting the professional orientation of graduates, and assisting their employment in relevant structures.

Speaking at the event, Rector of BEU Yagub Piriyev stated that the logistics and transportation sector is currently one of the strategic directions of the country’s economy. Emphasizing Azerbaijan’s transformation into a strategic transit hub in the region, the rector noted that in the future the “Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity” (TRIPP) project will further expand new transit opportunities. Noting that all these factors increase the demand for highly qualified personnel, Yagub Piriyev said that logistics and transport engineering, as well as other related specialties, are taught at BEU in accordance with modern challenges. It was noted that alongside theoretical knowledge, special attention is paid to practical training during the educational process, and students gain skills aligned with a real working environment through cooperation with industry partners. In this regard, the agreement signed with ACRL will create new opportunities and make a significant contribution to improving the quality of personnel training in the field of logistics and transport engineering, ensuring the more effective integration of graduates into the labor market, and developing the country’s transport and logistics potential.

The rector also provided information about the alignment of educational programs at BEU with international standards in recent years, the implementation of dual degree programs, the strengthening of the material and technical base, the opening of new specialties, and the expansion of scientific research activities.

In their speeches, ACRL representatives noted that the established partnership will facilitate students’ faster adaptation to the production environment, enable them to acquire real work skills, and support their successful future careers in the industrial sector. The Association will consistently support the involvement of students in internship programs together with its member companies, the participation of specialists in the teaching process, and the implementation of joint scientific and practical initiatives.

During the meeting, an exchange of views was held on issues of mutual interest.
