Modern Laboratories at BEU: Reliable Foundation for Quality Education and Successful Career

Baku Engineering University (BEU) stands out among the country's higher education institutions for its modern scientific research and teaching infrastructure. Significant work is being carried out at the university to continuously strengthen the material and technical base of its laboratories, with the aim of improving the quality of education, expanding scientific activity, and developing students' practical knowledge and skills. The modern laboratory infrastructure enables students to enter their future professional careers at a high level of preparedness, playing an important role in enhancing the competitiveness of university graduates in the labor market.
Within the framework of measures taken in this direction in recent years, new laboratories have been established and put into operation at the university. These include laboratories covering such priority areas as Cybersecurity, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Network and System Security, Organic Synthesis and Materials Science named after Yusif Mammadaliyev, Agrochemical Analysis, Materials Science, and others.
BEU currently operates more than 20 modern laboratories covering various fields of science and engineering, including computer laboratories, mechanical engineering laboratories, electronics and information and communication technology laboratories, chemistry and chemical engineering laboratories, biotechnology, microscopic research and microbiology laboratories, a physics laboratory, and other specialized facilities. Equipped with modern equipment, these laboratories create favorable conditions for strengthening the practical component of the educational process, improving the quality of scientific research, and implementing innovative projects.
Over the past two years, comprehensive measures have been carried out to reconstruct the Mechanical Engineering laboratories in accordance with modern requirements and to restore and bring existing equipment to full operational condition. The following laboratories are currently in operation within this complex: Automatic Control; Mechanisms and Machine Dynamics; Internal Combustion Engines and Automobiles; Mechanical Vibration and Noise Control; Non-Destructive Testing Methods; Design and Adequate Modelling; Processing Methods; Materials and Metallography; Strength of Materials; Aerodynamics and Fluid Mechanics; Thermal Sciences and Heat Conduction; and Renewable Energy. This infrastructure creates broad opportunities for students to receive project-based education, work with modern engineering equipment, and participate in research activities.
The continuous modernization of the laboratory infrastructure at BEU constitutes an important component of the university's strategic development priorities. The systematic work carried out in this direction makes a significant contribution to the training of highly qualified specialists who meet the demands of the labor market. At the same time, it enables students to engage in research activities and develop professional competencies in line with international standards, while creating a favorable scientific environment for researchers to conduct scientific investigations, implement innovative projects, and expand cooperation with industry.
