Event Dedicated to the Works of Mikayil Mushfiq Held at BEU

An event titled “Mikayil Mushfiq,” dedicated to the literary and moral heritage of victims of repression, was organized by the 21st Century Club operating under the Student Trade Union Committee of Baku Engineering University (BEU).

During the event, general historical information was presented about the period of repression that took place in the 1930s of the 20th century. In the speeches, special emphasis was placed on the impact of that period on Azerbaijani literature and the intellectual community, and a detailed account was given of the life path and creative characteristics of the prominent poet Mikayil Mushfiq.

In the artistic part of the event, students recited the poet’s poems and presented examples from his poetry. Following the screening of a short film dedicated to the victims of repression, discussions were held on the topic and participants’ questions were answered.

At the end of the event, students who demonstrated active participation were awarded gifts.
