Winners of Sports Tournament at BEU Awarded

A ceremony to honor the winners of a sports tournament organized at Baku Engineering University (BEU) in commemoration of the 103rd birth anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, with the support of the Absheron-Khizi Regional Youth and Sports Administration, has been held.

The tournament, jointly organized by the BEU Student Trade Union Committee and Sports Club, aimed to promote the productive use of students' leisure time, advocate a healthy lifestyle, and foster greater interest in sports among young people.

Speaking at the event, BEU Vice-Rector for Social Affairs and Public Relations Bayram Huseynzade emphasized that Great Leader Heydar Aliyev always paid special attention to the development of youth policy and sports in Azerbaijan. It was noted that the policy aimed at nurturing a healthy and patriotic young generation in the country continues to be successfully implemented today. In his address, the Vice-Rector drew attention to the significant contribution such events make to the patriotic upbringing of young people and the development of a sound-minded and active generation. Noting the active participation of international students enrolled at BEU in the sports tournament, Bayram Huseynzade added that this demonstrates the integration of international students into social life at the university and the cultivation of a healthy competitive environment.

Ilgar Khudiyev, Lead Adviser of the Youth and Sports Sector for Absheron District under the Absheron-Khizi Regional Youth and Sports Administration, noted that such competitions held at higher education institutions have a positive impact on both the physical development of students and the strengthening of team spirit.

The tournament was held across three sports disciplines: football, chess, and checkers. It was particularly highlighted that the "Birlik" team, which claimed first place in football, consisted primarily of international students studying at BEU. It was noted that the team's achievement serves as an example of friendship, solidarity, and mutual cooperation among different nations.

In conclusion, the winners of the tournament in all three sports disciplines were awarded, and participants were wished success in future competitions.
