Joint Research by BEU Scholars Published in Q1-Category International Journal
October 6, 2026
The results of joint scientific research conducted by scholars from Baku Engineering University (BEU) have been published in a Q1-category international journal indexed in the Scopus database. The authors of the article reflecting the research results represent BEU's Faculty of Information and Computer Technologies. Among the authors are Vagif Gasimov, Dean of the Faculty, Doctor of Technical Sciences and Professor; Jabir Mammadov, Head of the Department of Cybersecurity and Computer Engineering; Associate Professors Esmira Mustafayeva and Kamala Aliyeva of the same department; as well as Senior Lecturer Nargiz Mammadzade.
The article, titled "Linear-Time Correlation-Controlled Shuffling on Random Regular Graphs with Spectral Guarantees," was published in open-access format in the journal "Information (Switzerland)," published by MDPI, and is listed in the Q1 quartile under the "Information Systems" category.
The study proposes a linear-time correlation control method that reduces Pearson correlation based on local modifications in random regular graphs. The method's main advantage is that it allows the marginal distribution to be fully preserved using only permutations.
The results of the experiments conducted showed that the method ensures a small target error, precise marginal preservation, and linear scalability. The results obtained are regarded as a scientific contribution to the fields of correlation control, spectral analysis of graphs, and algorithmic complexity theory.
