BEU Showcases 11 Research Results Significant for Defense Industry at "ADEX 2026"
September 30, 2026
Baku Engineering University (BEU) is represented at the "ADEX 2026" 6th Azerbaijan International Defense Exhibition with products and innovative solutions that are the results of 11 significant research projects.
The exhibition presents the results of research carried out at BEU's Chemical Engineering Laboratory, including new formulations for use in various defense systems.
BEU Rector Yagub Piriyev toured the university's stand, observed the presentation of research results of significant importance to the defense industry, and spoke with exhibition participants.
One of the key factors enhancing the significance of these research results for the defense industry is that they have undergone practical testing. The new formulations have been tested for specific applications at relevant agencies, and successful results have been achieved. This is an important indicator of how the university's application-oriented research is being aligned with real production and industry needs.
The research results presented by the university at the exhibition cover important areas for the defense industry, such as initial ignition and the formation of energy impulse, energy transfer and amplification, the regulation of the combustion process and time interval, as well as the provision of propulsive force. These results have concrete application potential in the development of functional components for various defense-purpose systems.
Among the results presented, ignition, active freezing, delaying, and amplifying compositions, solid rocket fuel, and nitrocellulose occupy a special place. These studies cover areas such as the development of energetic materials, initial ignition, energy transfer and amplification, the regulation of the combustion process, and material supply for propulsion systems.
Another area of research concerns energetic materials and their components. This includes compositions used as key components in the production of smokeless powder, and in energetic binders and pyrotechnic compositions in solid rocket fuels. Solid rocket fuel, in turn, is applied in providing propulsive force in rockets and jet systems of various purposes. Another chemical composition, one of the materials with high energetic properties, stands out for its potential applications in various military-purpose explosive compositions.
The exhibition also features the "Loko GPS Tracker," an innovative tracking system developed by a young BEU staff member based on LoRa P2P technology. Designed to operate in areas without mobile communication or internet connectivity, the technology enables the determination of the position of objects and equipment, the local transmission of coordinates, and the storage of data. The "Loko GPS Tracker" has potential applications in various fields, including unmanned aerial vehicles, search and rescue, scientific research, agriculture, defense, and special-purpose applications. Its ability to ensure local data exchange, particularly in conditions where communication infrastructure is limited or unavailable, enhances the technology's practical significance.
BEU's participation in "ADEX 2026" is significant in terms of showcasing the university's application-oriented research, practically tested results, and innovative technologies, as well as highlighting the contribution they can make to the development of the defense industry.
