BEU and National University of Uzbekistan sign Memorandum

A memorandum of understanding has been signed between Baku Engineering University (BEU) and another prestigious higher education institution, the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek, within the framework of the "QS Eurasia Forum 2025" held in the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent.

At the signing ceremony held at the National University of Uzbekistan, the parties exchanged detailed views on the current activities of the two higher education institutions, achievements achieved in recent years, and priority goals in scientific and academic areas. The meeting served as an effective platform for a wide discussion of prospective directions of bilateral cooperation.

Rectors Yagub Piriyev and Inom Madjidov emphasized at the meeting that friendly relations between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan are developing at a high level in the fields of education and science.

During the meeting, the issues of organizing joint dual degree programs, expanding academic mobility opportunities, involving faculty members as scientific supervisors for doctoral students, increasing the number of joint scientific articles in prestigious journals indexed in the Scopus database, as well as forming sustainable scientific cooperation initiatives in the fields of engineering, chemistry and economics were discussed in detail. It was noted that the signed memorandum would serve as a solid basis for the implementation of future projects and raising cooperation in the scientific, technical and educational fields to a new stage.
