An information session on “Mandatory Health Insurance” was organized at Baku Engineering University (BEU) for students and staff.

The event began with a speech by BEU’s Vice-Rector for Social Affairs and Public Relations, Bayram Huseynzade, who spoke about the significant steps taken by the state in implementing mandatory health insurance, the reforms carried out in this field, and the efforts to ensure citizens’ access to quality healthcare services. He also emphasized that the social welfare and health of BEU employees and students are among the university’s top priorities and that such sessions play an important role in raising awareness within the community.

Later, Fuad Bayramov, a representative of the State Agency for Mandatory Health Insurance, delivered a presentation explaining the essence, objectives, and benefits of the mandatory health insurance system. He noted that this system provides every citizen, regardless of financial status, with equal access to essential medical services.

The session also covered topics such as the services included and excluded from the insurance package, procedures for applying to public healthcare institutions, and the mechanisms for service coverage. Additionally, participants were informed about the conditions under which medication costs are covered, ways to reduce waiting times for long-term treatments and surgeries, and opportunities for treatment and operations in private clinics under insurance coverage.

The event concluded with a Q&A session, where practical aspects of the mandatory health insurance system were discussed and clarified.
