Workshop on differential salary system held at BEU

A training session on the implementation of the differential salary system has been conducted for deans and heads of departments by the Department of Strategy and Quality Assurance at Baku Engineering University (BEU).

During the training, the head of the department Sevil Imanova delivered a presentation providing a general overview of the differential salary system, which serves to objectively assess the performance of academic staff. She noted that this practice, adopted by foreign universities, has already been implemented in several higher education institutions in the country and that BEU is expected to transition to this system starting next year. Emphasizing the positive aspects of the system, S. Imanova highlighted its primary goals: to encourage faculty members to engage in scientific research, to foster academic competition among them, and to contribute to the development of human capital and the enhancement of quality in education.

Later, programmers, Vali Hasanov and Hamid Israfilov, explained the procedures for completing the electronic questionnaire. It was noted that each faculty member has a personal account within the electronic system and must upload all relevant information related to the differential salary categories themselves. Under the implemented differential salary system, the academic, teaching, and professional development activities of the academic staff will be evaluated based on various criteria and assigned scores, which will serve as the basis for calculating the differential salary.

During the training, questions from deans and department heads were addressed and clarified.
