Both teams of Baku Engineering University (BEU), "ROBOXIDE" and "A-MAZE", that performed at the "Robotex Azerbaijan Eurasian Championship" Festival have won the first place.
"ROBOXIDE" team, consisting of BEU students, participating in the Azerbaijan stage held as part of "Robotex Türkiye", took the first place in the "1 Kg-Lego Sumo" category, and the "A-MAZE" team the first place in the "Maze solving" category.
At the opening ceremony of the "Robotex Azerbaijan Eurasian Championship" Festival, Ulkar Sattarova, Director of the State Agency for Science and Higher Education, Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency, Jahit Bagci, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkey to Azerbaijan, Yagub Piriyev, Rector of BEU, as well as a rectors of various higher education institutions and other guests participated.
The festival aims to promote the development of robotic technologies and prepare a suitable ground for the emergence of new ideas. More than 250 teams, more than 1,500 participants, and more than 5,000 guests took part in the festival organized for the first time in Azerbaijan, in 18 categories and 4 age groups (primary, middle, senior classes and students).
The teams that won the first 3 places in each category will represent our country at the "Robotex Türkiye" National Championship to be held in Antalya on April 20-21, 2024. The teams that stand out in this stage, where 18 countries will participate, will get the right to participate in the world championship that will be held in Estonia in November.
It should be noted that seven of the members of the teams participating in the competition under the mentorship of BEU employees Ali Hasanov and Elmeddin Huseynov are students of the dual degree program between BEU and the Republic of Korea (South).
