The number of research works increases significantly at BEU

The intensity of scientific activity at Baku Engineering University (BEU), as well as the number of research work have increased significantly in recent years, including last year. Thus, in 2020, BEU employees published 3 textbooks, 19 textbooks, 145 teaching aids and programs, and received 2 patents, 1 of which was abroad.

232 research works on 42 problems and 84 topics were carried out in 23 existing departments of the university and 32 works on 25 topics were completed. The Web of Science platform had a total of 101 publications (157 publications on behalf of BEU in total), including 12 in 2017, 19 in 2018, 29 in 2019 and 41 in 2020, and 517 references to them. According to these indicators, BEU is in the top ten among Azerbaijani universities.

Of the more than 100 articles published abroad, about 50 are in journals with an impact factor. BEU staff is in the top ten among the country's universities in terms of the number of publications in the Thomson Reuters database, and in second place in the social sciences after ADA.

The number of BEU employees who received awards for scientific publications in 2017 increased from 7 to 35 in 2020, most of whom were young researchers.

In the last 3 years, about 10 articles of the University employees were published in the most popular journals such as Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews (Web Of Science Impact Factor 25.239), Journal Of Molecular Liquids IF 4.561, Environmental Science And Pollution Research IF 3.208, Applied Mathematical Modeling 3.112.

There were 139 scientific conference publications of BEU employees, 41 of which employees were abroad and 98 theses were in Azerbaijan.

The strategic plan to increase the number of articles in international scientific journals was achieved by more than 40%. Thus, the number of publications in scientific journals with an impact factor was set at 35 targets, and in 2020, 50 studies of employees were published.

In general, the results of research work by university staff in 2017-2020 included 17 monographs, 7 textbooks, 14 textbooks, 191 foreign and 387 scientific articles in the country, 91 abroad scientific publications, 183 scientific conference publications, 2 copyright certificates and  3 patents.
