Students of Seydimli village secondary school of Tartar district visit BEU

Students of Seydimli village secondary school of Tartar district have visited Baku Engineering University (BEU) within the framework of the project "Let's start sustainable development from school" implemented by Education HUB.

Speaking at the meeting, BEU Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs, Associate Professor Elchin Suleymanov noted the advantages of the University. He said that BEU had trained highly qualified personnel in the field of engineering, exact sciences and economics. The Vice-Rector added that BEU was one of the few universities that teaches chemistry, biology, mathematics, computer science and physics in English. He also emphasized that BEU operated as an e-university and provided relevant information.

E.Suleymanov also spoke about the BEU-INHA dual degree program implemented within the "State Program on Increasing the International Competitiveness of the Higher Education System in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019-2023". He said that according to the program, training was carried out in 4 specialties (Information Technology, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Electronics Engineering). Noting that the students would study 3 academic years at BEU and 1 academic year at INHA University of South Korea, E.Suleymanov touched upon that the program was implemented on the basis of State Order, and students would be awarded two diplomas at the end of 4 years.

Elchin Yusubov, Head of the Science and Innovation Department of BEU, gave detailed information about the history of the University and the specialties taught.

Later, a video reflecting the activities of the University was shown.

It was noted at the meeting that the modern material and technical base of the University met the relevant requirements to ensure the training highly qualified specialists. Necessary information about electronics and ICT laboratories, student dormitories, student clubs was brought to the attention of students. Moreover, the "New Idea Competition" organized by BEU Technopark to promote entrepreneurship among young people was emphasized.

At the end, the students got acquainted with the activities of BEU Technopark, Computer Laboratories, ICT Laboratories, looked at the handicrafts made by students of the Faculty of Architecture and Construction.
