Baku Engineering University (BEU) has hosted Steering Committee meeting as part of BEU-INHA Dual Degree Program. Thus, a delegation of INHA University visited BEU.
In his opening speech, BEU Rector, Professor Havar Mammadov expressed his pleasure to see the guests at the University. Noting "State Program on Increasing International Competitiveness of the Higher Education System in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019-2023" approved by the respective Order of President Ilham Aliyev, the Rector emphasized that within the framework of Dual Degree Program between BEU and INHA University of South Korea, specialist training has been carring out in Information Technology, Civil Engineering, Electronics Engineering and Electrical Engineering for two years.
Stressing that the program was funded by the state, Havar Mammadov added that the Ministry of Education paid special attention to the program implementation. The Rector touched upon that all issues were resolved in accordance with the bilateral agreement, and organizational issues were implemented at a high level.
By denoting the training for BEU academic staff scheduled to be held in the summer of this year at INHA University, the Head of the higher education institution highlighted the economic development of Korea and the importance of promoting the positive aspects of its education system.
At the end of his speech, Havar Mammadov spoke about the advantages of the Dual Degree Program, and expressed his confidence that the meeting would be useful.
Later, Adviser to the Minister of Education Nijat Mammadli pointed out that the implementation of dual degree programs in our country created opportunities and conditions to improve bilateral relations of our universities, expand research opportunities, bring them into line with international standards and rise in international rankings. Noting that the bilateral cooperation between BEU and INHA University was very successful, the ministry official added that both universities woull benefit from the Dual Degree Program. Nijat Mammadli expressed his hope that this cooperation would further develop in the future.
Vice President of Research and External Affair of INHA University Hye Wook Won stated the interest of the University he represened in the program. Underlining the participation of DDP students in the summer school at INHA University, Hye Wook Won also emphasized the visit of Korean professors to BEU. Noting that Steering Committee meeting was held twice a year, once every semester, the University representative added that the meeting for the autumn semester would be held in Korea.
Afterwards, Director General of BEU-INHA DDP Humay Jafarli delivered an extensive speech. Report by Director General on financial report and educational results of the fall semester of 2021 was listened to. Furthermore, information about the admission examination, the activities planned for 2022, and the students with specific cases was brought to the attention of the participants.
The issues on the agenda were widely discussed at the meeting and approved by a majority of votes.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy director and Acting director of State Agency for Vocational Education Jeyhun Karamov, Programs specialist of Implementation Unit for “State Programme 2019-2023” Tarlan Abbasova, BEU Vice-Rector for International Relations, Associate Professor Manafaddin Namazov, INHA Project Director of BEU-INHA DDP Hyunjin Yang, Senior Specialist of BEU-INHA DDP Sevinj Iskandarova, Dean of Global Education Project Group of INHA University Jungho Kim and Vice-dean of Global Education Project Group of INHA University Seung Woo Ha, professor Hyun Jeong Kim, and BEU Chief Accountant Samir Musayev.
