A reporting meeting has been held within the program/project "Social Entrepreneurship and Employment Centers" in which Baku Engineering University (BEU) participates as a partner.
At the event organized in Masalli district, the head of the program and "Disabled Entrepreneurs Organization" Public Union Mirza Mammad Valiyev delivered a speech about the current implementation status of the project. It was noted that the project, which served the purpose of integration of persons belonging to the disabled and vulnerable social groups into society and promotion of social entrepreneurship activities, started with 7 partners (Agency for Development of Small and Medium Businesses under the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, State Employment Service under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population and DOST Agency, Baku Engineering University, Azersu JSC, FORIELLA MMC and "Disabled Entrepreneurs Organization" Public Union) in December last year. Today, the number of partners has reached 10 with the participation of "Azermash" OJSC, Baku Textile Factory and Equita companies.
Arif Nacimov, chief specialist of BEU Technopark and university coordinator of the program/project, delivered a speech at the event. Pointing out that BEU was the only higher education institution represented in the project, he emphasized the additional work that the university could do as an academic partner within the framework of the program/project. A. Najimov gave information about BEU faculties, modern material and technical base, international relations and projects being implemented jointly with foreign partners, bringing to the attention of the event participants that the higher education institution had sufficient potential for the preparation and implementation of new and joint projects.
In the second part of the event, partners and guests visited the first Social Entrepreneurship and Employment Center, which started operating in a short period of time (from August 22, 2022) in Masalli Industrial District. The guests were closely acquainted with the working process of the tailoring and carpet weaving course conducted by professional trainers, organized to ensure the employment of representatives of vulnerable social groups and persons with disabilities at the Center.
Niyazi Baghirov, Deputy Director of the Social-Economic Development Analysis and Forecasting Department of the Masalli District Executive Authority, Murad Ibrahimov, Masalli district representative of the Agency for Development of Small and Medium Businesses of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and others also spoke at the event and informed the guests about the work done and to be done.
