The next meeting of the Student Trade Union Committee (STUC) of Baku Engineering University (BEU) has been held.

Dear memory of the patriots that became martyrs in the battles on the freedom, independence and territorial integrity of our country was commemorated with a minute of silence, afterwards National Anthem of the Azerbaijan Republic was played.

BEU Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs, Associate Professor Bayram Huseynzada spoke about the youth policy of President Ilham Aliyev and the state's special care for young people. The Vice-Rector stressed that the 44-day Patriotic War proved the formation of a young generation with a strong sense of patriotism and upbringing in the national spirit during the period of independence. 

 Later, the vice-rector noted the activities of student organizations operating at the University, the conditions created for students by the University administration and their successes, and gave recommendations on the future activities of STUC.

Deputy Chairman of the Republican Committee of Free Trade Union of Educators of Azerbaijan (FTUEA) Mirza Jafarzada greeted the participants. Noting that the event coincided with a significant period, M.Jafarzada noted that the first anniversary of the Victory Day was solemnly celebrated. He spoke about the historic victory of Azerbaijan in the 44-day Patriotic War under the leadership of Victorious Commander-in-Chief, President Ilham Aliyev, and noted the role of youth on the road to victory. 

Giving information about STUC, M.Jafarzada stressed that the organization not only protected the rights of students, but also played an important role in the organization of their social life.

Then, the new composition of STUC consisting of 15 people, as well as the members of the Presidium consisting of 7 people and the Inspection Commission consisting of 5 people were approved by voting.

Rayakhanim Agazada, a third-year student of Education Faculty of the University, was elected chairperson of STUC by a majority of votes.

R. Agazada thanked for the confidence shown to her and expressed confidence that she would be able to cope with such an honorable and responsible job.
