Meeting held with students in Ganja

The next educational event, organized on the Dual Degree Program implemented between Baku Engineering University (BEU) and INHA University of South Korea, has been held in Ganja. The event, held with the organizational support of the Ganja City Education Department, was attended by about 400 entrants (from 45 schools operating in Ganja) who submitted documents for the first group.

At the meeting, which took place at secondary school No.10 named after Mohammad Hadi, BEU Vice-Rector for International Relations, Associate Professor Manafaddin Namazov noted the history of the University and the engineering specialties taught here.

In his speech, the Vice-Rector spoke in-depth about the BEU-INHA Dual Degree Program, implemented within the "State Program on increasing the international competitiveness of the higher education system in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019-2023." Emphasizing that the program was fully funded by the state, the Vice-Rector stressed the specialties taught here (Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Information Technologies). Underlining the importance of training highly qualified personnel in engineering, M.Namazov added that BEU had great prospects for young people wanting to become specialists in accordance with modern challenges.

Humay Jafarli, Director General of the BEU-INHA Dual Degree Program, and Sevinj Iskandarova, Senior Specialist of the BEU-INHA Dual Degree Program, delivered a presentation at the event.

It was noted in the speeches that BEU and INHA University have been implemented a dual degree program in engineering at the undergraduate level since the 2020/2021 academic year. Furthermore, students will study 3 academic years at BEU and 1 academic year at INHA University of South Korea in the program based on the 3 + 1 model.

The presentations provided detailed information on the location of world-renowned companies in South Korea, as well as other benefits of the program for students. It was mentioned that students would study on the basis of a curriculum synchronized by both universities, and eventually receive two diplomas. The participation of students in a 3-week summer school in South Korea, as well as the possibility of continuing their master's and doctoral studies there with a scholarship were discussed in detail.

Moreover, the students were informed about the specialties, passing scores, admission quota, education language, admission conditions and application form of the program.

Speaking about INHA University, Hyunjin Yang, INHA Project Director of BEU-INHA DDP, underlined that the University was one of the leading engineering universities in South Korea. Highlighting the opportunities created by the program, INHA Project Director of BEU-INHA DDP called on applicants to apply to this program.

An introductory video of INHA University was demonstrated and booklets with information on the Dual Degree Program were distributed to applicants at  the event, moderated by Amina Kazimli, a primary school teacher at school No. 23, Ganja.
