Employees of Baku Engineering University (BEU) have attended an event dedicated to “Science Day” at Absheron District Heydar Aliyev Center.
In her opening speech at the event, Deputy Head of the Absheron District Executive Power Gulnar Rahimova noted the Order of President Ilham Aliyev dated April 9, 2018 on the establishment of "Science Day."
G.Rahimova spoke in detail about the beginning of the new stage in the development of science with National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s return to political power in Azerbaijan, the comprehensive care for the rise of science at the state level, as well as about boosting the reputation of scientists and science.
Chairman of the Absheron District Council on Older Persons Nadir Aghayev provided information about the state policy program implemented successfully by independent Azerbaijan, as well as about the large-scale work on the integration of Azerbaijani science into international science.
BEU Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs, assoc.prof. Elchin Suleymanov stressed the support of President Ilham Aliyev for education and cited the state programs implemented in this direction. Emphasizing the role of innovation and technology in modern times, the Vice-Rector pointed out that the importance of scientific innovations and technologies in the liberation of our lands, which had been under occupation for more than 30 years, was confirmed.
In his speech, E.Suleymanov also touched upon the scientific competition "Scientists of Tomorrow" jointly organized by the Ministry of Education, Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation to encourage students.
Later, senior lecturer of BEU Department of Mathematics and Informatics Bahman Mammadov (Gudsi) delivered a report on "Who is the leader and creative teacher?".
At the end, an exchange of views was held on the reports.
