Atrabe Gul, Vice-Rector for International Relations of Baku Engineering University (BEU), has attended the event titled “Climate Management School” supported by Oxford University (Saïd Business School) and organized by Sumgayit State University.
The event, which was attended by representatives of the State Agency for Science and Higher Education, the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency, the National Hydrometeorological Service, BP, SOCAR and other well-known companies, as well as a number of universities, aimed to promote innovation in solving environmental problems and to formulate sustainable approaches to climate management in accordance with the theme of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change held in Azerbaijan.
The Vice-Rector of BEU, who actively participated in extensive discussions on the topics of “Benefits of Going Green for Organizations” and “Integrating Climate Management into Business Strategy”, touched upon the impacts of climate change on health, the problems arising in its management, and other issues.
The panel discussions included the experiences of leading industrial enterprises in relevant fields, and workshops were organized within the framework of the event on the directions of the climate change-based action plan.
The two-day management school also held training sessions on combating the ecological, economic, and social impacts of climate change by representatives of “Saïd Business School”, “Burjeel Holding” and “Earth Day Network” organizations.
At the end of the trainings, participants were presented with certificates.
