The Student Youth Organization (SYO) of Baku Engineering University (BEU) has been represented at the “World Youth Forum 2024” held in Porto, Portugal.

At the forum, SYO Chairman Janel Khalilov delivered a speech on the topic “Youth Leadership in Climate Action”.

Drawing attention to the problems caused by global climate change, J. Khalilov noted that 2024 was declared the “Green World Solidarity Year” in Azerbaijan by the relevant Decree of President Ilham Aliyev, and the prestigious UN COP29 event was held in Baku at a high level. He also provided information about the active participation of Azerbaijani youth in these processes. J.Khalilov also noted the importance of the international forum for the voice of young people to be heard and for them to make a greater contribution to issues related to climate change, and emphasized expectations from the event.

The forum was attended by students, young leaders, lawyers and activists from different countries of the world. This platform aims to discuss current global problems, create international cooperation, as well as establish lasting relationships between young people living in different parts of the world, improve their leadership skills, and etc.

The chairman of BEU SYO, who actively participated in the discussions held within the forum, was awarded a certificate.
