A 4th-year student of Baku Engineering University (BEU), a member of the Azerbaijani national team, Shahin Asadov has taken the 2nd place in the individual competitions of the national judo championship among women and men held at the Baku Sports Palace.
324 judokas from 60 clubs, societies and sports organizations in 14 weight categories competed for medals in the competition.
BEU student Shahin Asadov, who won the silver medal in this competition, has been involved in judo-sambo since the age of 5 and has achieved many achievements so far. In 2018 and 2019, he won two bronze medals at the national judo championship, and in 2022, he won a silver medal at the republican championship. Sh. Asadov, who was the republican champion in 2021 and 2023, won a bronze medal at the Raguf Orujov International Judo Tournament held in Baku in 2023, as well as a bronze medal at the international tournament dedicated to Archil Chocheli, the world and European champion in sambo wrestling among men, in Tbilisi, Georgia, defeating his Armenian opponent with complete superiority (9-0).
