Shahin Asadov, a third-year student of Baku Engineering University (BEU), a member of the Azerbaijan national sambo team (coach Vahid Tariverdiyev), will participate in the European youth sambo championship to be held in the Republic of Serbia on May 10-11.
Before that, the BEU student who participated in the national team in the international tournament dedicated to the world and European champion in sambo wrestling among men in Tbilisi, Georgia, won the bronze medal with a complete advantage (9-0) over the Armenian opponent.
Shahin Asadov, who has been practicing judo-sambo since he was 5 years old, has achieved many achievements so far. In 2018 and 2019, he won a bronze medal twice in the national championship in judo, and in 2022, he won a silver medal in the national championship. Moreover, BEU student, who was the champion of the republic in 2021 and 2023, won a bronze medal at the Raguf Orujov International Judo Tournament held in Baku in 2023.
The next competition in which the BEU student will participate - the world championship in sambo among youth will be held on October 16 of this year in the Republic of Southern Cyprus.
