A meeting has been held with students who were admitted to Baku Engineering University (BEU) with high results in the entrance exams for the 2023/2024 academic year.

At the meeting, Rector Yagub Piriyev emphasized the work done in the direction of adapting the content and quality indicators of the higher education system to international standards under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev. Noting that a new generation of specialists is being trained based on the fully state-sponsored dual degree programs (DDPs) currently being implemented, the Rector pointed out that BEU is one of the main 3 universities in the country implementing this program. Furthermore, he added that students who were admitted to the university with high results preferred the dual degree program implemented between BEU and Inha University of South Korea.

Mentioning that 176 people who showed high results in the entrance exams chose BEU, the head of the higher education institution touched upon that 46 of them scored more than 600 points.

Adding to his opinion that BEU is one of the 7 universities in Azerbaijan in the "QS European University Rankings 2024" table, the Rector spoke about future measures and innovations aimed at strengthening the scientific-research direction of the higher school, further increasing the quality of education at all levels. Talking about the role of various education and student exchange programs in the individual development of students, Yagub Piriyev called them to actively participate in these programs.

Later, opinions and proposals of the students related to the issues of creation of information technology and engineering start-ups of students, interest in various profile competitions and ensuring participation in these events, student scholarships, etc. were listened to, and the questions that interested them were clarified.

Noting that the voiced opinions and requests will be kept in mind, the Rector emphasized that innovative initiatives and ideas are always welcomed, and students will be given the necessary support for this.

Sharing the necessary recommendations and advice on training a professional specialist and qualified staff, who are in high demand in the labor market, and constantly developing in this direction, Yagub Piriyev added that he is always ready to listen to the students. Moreover, he wished them educational achievements and success.
