The next scientific seminar has been held within the framework of the "Year of Solidarity for the Green World" under the organization of Baku Engineering University (BEU) vice-rectorate for science and innovation issues.
Drawing attention to the relevance of the seminar, BEU Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation Agasi Malikov reminded that 2024 was declared the "Green World Solidarity Year" in our country by the relevant Order of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. The vice-rector spoke about the support and contribution of our state to the work carried out at the national, regional and global level in the direction of protecting the ecological balance and environment in Azerbaijan, including the prevention of climate changes. Noting that the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 29) will be held in our country, the vice-rector added that the holding of such a prestigious and influential event in Baku is connected with the high trust of the global community in Azerbaijan, as well as its unparalleled services in this field. stressed.
Humeyra Mustafayeva, head of the department of general subjects of the Faculty of Architecture and Construction, emphasized that great attention is paid to the prevention and solution of environmental problems in our country. Furthermore, she mentioned the concrete steps taken in this regard.
Later, Rabil Mehtiyev, a teacher of the Department of General Subjects, gave a speech entitled "Green world, our world". In the report, Azerbaijan's five national priorities for socio-economic development until 2030, important tasks for one of these priorities, "Country of clean environment and green growth", as well as the declaration of a green energy zone in the territories freed from occupation, as well as the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, and the work done in this direction were touched upon.
After the lecture, the speakers expressed their opinions on the topic. Questions were answered and various suggestions were made at the event, where a wide range of opinions was exchanged.
